I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with prescriptive authority. Graduate degrees and extensive experience in both psychiatric nursing and social work enable me to assess your mental health needs from a whole-person perspective for enhanced diagnostic  accuracy and improved outcomes.

EXPERIENCE

• While serving the college student population, I specialized in the treatment of ADHD, performance anxiety, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, depressive disorders, adjustment disorders, bipolar disorder, panic disorder, and OCD.

• As the psychiatric prescriber for a small acute treatment unit, my practice focused primarily on those with serious and persistent psychiatric illness including schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, and depression. 

• As a counselor and prescriber for the VA, I specialized in treatment of PTSD due to combat or military sexual trauma. As a Veteran of the U.S. Army, I understand the issues unique to military culture.

MY PRACTICE

Consultations are available on Thursdays and Fridays, either in person or via telehealth for your convenience.  I use Luminello electronic health record, a  secure, HIPAA-compliant, cloud-based platform.  To request a consultation, please submit a request at https://app2.luminello.com/cynthiaallenmsn/form. Financial transactions require a credit card on file so that invoices can be paid in a timely manner; they are safeguarded by APEX EDI and Bluefin Payment systems.
